MANITOBA SCHOOL BOWLING

Bowl Manitoba is excited to announce a new initiative for students in grades 5 to 12 – a school league for both 5-pin and 10-pin bowling. Please join us in this initiative to provide another opportunity for students to develop active, healthy lifestyle options. The format of the league encourages inclusivity and teamwork.

There will be four divisions:

5-Pin Middle Years Division

Students in Grades 5 – 8

5-Pin Senior Years Division

Students in Grades 9 – 12

10-Pin Middle Years Division

Students in Grades 5 – 8

10-Pin Senior Years Division

Students in Grades 9 – 12

Dates:
League Play: October 21, 2024 to December 21, 2024
Provincial Tournament: Friday, January 17, 2025

Cost:
Each team will pay $99 per team member to cover the expenses of uniform shirts and home matches lineage. Shoe rental is included in the lineage costs. Each team will be associated with a bowling centre as their home centre.

Teams:
Teams can consist of 4 – 10 members. Five players will bowl at any one time and substitutions will be permitted if a team has more than 5 members. A team with 4 members will have each member bowling more frames than a team with 5 members. If a team has more than 5 players, substitutions can be made. Once a player has left a game, they cannot re-enter that game but they can re-enter any other game in the same match.

Format:
Baker’s Games. A match will consist of 5 games of baker style bowling – each member will bowl one frame, followed by the next member. With 5 players, the game will look like this:

A match win is 3 out of 5 games but all 5 games will be played for each match for season statistical purposes.

Season: There will be a season of 6 matches followed by Provincial Finals. Competition days will be determined in consultation with participating schools and participating bowling centres. Note that one competition day may consist of multiple matches. Complete rules and regulations will be shared with all participating schools before the season begins.
